Are you conversant with CI/CD (Continuous Integration/ Continuous Deployment)?

If so then I bet you've heard about CircleCI; a leader in cloud-native continuous integration and deployment. If not, I suggest you read this guide to see what it is all about and hopefully, you will embrace it in your SLDC (Software Development Life Cycle)

I have used CircleCI for four good years and it's been awesome. There have been several improvements like:

  • a wonderful CLI (Command Line Interface)
  • embracing Docker in CircleCI 2.0
  • SSH access to builds
  • introducing orbs (making it easier to write builds)
  • #Orbtoberfest: last year's Hacktoberfest with CircleCI

to mention but a few.

Docs are always a developer's best friend however beyond that articles written in the CircleCI blog serves to complement the docs with step-by-step tutorials for beginners and DevOps experts alike.

Guest Writers program

Guess what? A great deal of these articles in the CircleCI blog is written by guest writers. These are individuals (mostly developers) who are conversant with the platform and are willing to share their knowledge, tips and hacks they have picked up along their work. This could be you!

I signed up for the Guest Writers Program a while back and it's a great journey so far. I have come to appreciate the value of collaboration, attention to detail and constructive criticism through the writing and editorial process to finally seeing my article published.

You do get invoiced at the end of the day (details are in the program guide referred to at the bottom of this post) You get all this as a package for sharing knowledge. Amazing, right?

Feel free to read about the program 👆 here. Read through the program guide and apply (both links are on the program page linked earlier! The two buttons as on the screenshot below)

CircleCI Guest Writers program

If you are new to technical writing or just want to be better, Google release a free course for that recently. Read through it here.

All the best. See you on the other side 😎
